FAQ

Common questions

What is a vendor assessment?

A paid, third-party evaluation (e.g. through GeM's designated agencies, or a consultant's own works assessment) that validates your manufacturing capability, quality systems and product claims. It typically covers plant and machinery, testing facilities, quality documentation and production records, and is a prerequisite for OEM status on GeM and for most consultant enlistments.

How long does registration typically take?

GeM basic registration: days. GeM OEM/vendor assessment: weeks. Consultant enlistment (EIL/PDIL/MECON): several months, driven mostly by dossier completeness. RDSO/UVAM: item-specific, several months including inspection. We give you a realistic timeline per target during the capability review — and sequencing that lets faster registrations generate business while longer ones mature.

What documents should we have ready?

Incorporation documents, GSTIN, PAN, Udyam registration, three years' financials, ISO 9001 certificate, quality manual, plant & machinery list, testing-facility details, type-test reports, product approvals (IBR, API where held), executed purchase orders with performance certificates, and an organogram with QC qualifications. The single most common delay is inconsistency between documents — we audit for that first.

Do you guarantee approval?

No — and be wary of anyone who does. Approval decisions rest with each institution. What we provide is the process discipline that maximizes the probability: correct scope selection, complete first submissions, fast query turnaround and prepared works assessments.
